Week 2 - "Cold"

It has been quite some time since blogging but I’m going to have a go at it again. And what better way to kick off the new year that capturing my attempts at the 52-week Photo Challenge. The premise is simple: Each week is a different topic and during that week, you need to capture an image, process it and post it to social media. The key here is to determine what the subject of that week means to you and capture that artistically.

For example, last week’s subject was “Beginning” and I could not think of a better way to capture that that to start with Genesis from the Bible. What better story that the start of everything! This is what that looked like:

This week’s subject was “Cold” and being from Michigan, you would’t think it would be that difficult as we normally get tons of snow in the winter. However, this year, January has been unseasonably warm so getting something for a cold theme was proving a little more difficult. I decided to go on a little adventure and capture that in a Vlog to share with you all. Hopefully you can start to catch glimpses of why photography means so much to me. You can view it here:

After all of the pictures taken, each one seemed to get better and better. Of them all, one captured the essence of, what I would consider to represent “Cold” so well:

So make sure you take some time and take a walk through nature. It is good for the soul. Stop and look around you at the beauty and the intricacies of nature. Who knows, maybe you too will be inspired to go on a photo walk and challenge yourself to see something ordinary become extraordinary!
